Notes:The Supermono was designed by Massimo Bordi and styled by Pierre Terblanche. The motor was developed for Sound of Singles racing using an enlarged cylinder from an 888 with the rear cylinder replaced by a pivoting weight. This provided the same balance as a 90 degree V twin and allowed the Supermono to rev higher without the usual vibration. The Supermono won a TT in the hands of New Zealand rider Robert Holden and also many singles races however it s cylinder capacity was limited to 572cc and other production based single specials with motors enlarged to 850cc were a match for it. The promised road version never eventuated.
